GaoGaiGar has a lot of characters, that is obvious. This page gives more detailed views of the characters which appear in the original series and GaoGaiGar FINAL and analyses their personalities. The second story, Evoluder Guy, takes place between the end of the GaoGaiGar TV series and the start of the GaoGaiGar FINAL OAV series. In its five chapters, witness the theft of the new Super Mechanoid – the Fighting King of Braves, GaoFighGar – by the underground global criminal organization, BioNet! (Visited 27 times, 6 visits today). The last thing seen in FINAL is the Galeorian Comet, which sent them to the Repli-Trinary Solar System in the first place. And as learned in the beginning of FINAL, the Galeorian Comet passes Earth once every 8 years. So there is still hope for the heroic GGG, if they can survive for those 8 years.

The OVA sequel to GaoGaiGar, released from 2000-2003. Following the Gutsy Galaxy Guard's victory over the Zonder and the 31 Primevals, a new threat makes their appearance on Earth. GGG - with Guy Shishioh and the newly-constructed GaoFighGar - teams up with their French counterpart Chasseur to battle the evil organization Bionet. Among Chasseur`s ranks is Renais Cardiff Shishioh, Guy's cousin - a former Bionet cyborg with the relentless pursuit of destroying those who took away her humanity. But after a battle with Bionet, GGG`s bases around the world are suddenly attacked, and the recently-discovered 'Q Machine Parts' and the original Gao Machines are stolen by Mamoru Amami, who has been abducted and cloned by an even greater threat known as the 'Eleven Masters of Sol.' Evicted from Earth by the United Nations, GGG must now travel to the far reaches of the galaxy to battle the Sol Masters and save the universe before it`s too late.

• Arc Words:
  • 'What overcomes regeneration is the power of destruction. It is the hope to a new zero, the challenge of infinite possibility.'
  • Also 'Together, with the Oath sworn through Courage!'
• Battle in the Rain: FINAL #2, Gai in GaoFighGar vs Mamoru in the old GaoGaiGar. Or so it seemed.
• Berserker Tears:
  • Guy does this when he is sent into a rage at Mamoru destroying ChoRyuJin, and is forced to use Hell And Heaven with all his might to essentially kill Mamoru, tears streaming down his face all the while. It later turns out that it wasn't the real Mamoru, but that's beside the point.
  • From episode 6 when Palparepa explains how he is controlling Guy, a close up of the latter's face show tears streaming from his eyes.
• Big Damn Heroes - Near the end of episode 4, the real Mamoru shows up while everyone's out of commission and allows Guy to perform Final Fusion. It doesn't help much. In the very next episode, Soldat-J makes his triumphant return.

• Big 'NO!': Mikoto lets one out at the end of episode 5.
• Bittersweet Ending: Despite having defeated the 11 Soul Masters and destroyed the Pas-Q Machine, thus saving the universe, the heroes are trapped where the Repli-Trinary Solar System was, and they can only send Mamoru and Kaido back to Earth to reunite with their families and friends. Though they believe GGG will find a way back to the solar system, despite having been banished from it by the UN.
  • The very last frames shows that there might still be hope left. The last thing seen in FINAL is the Galeorian Comet, which sent them to the Repli-Trinary Solar System in the first place. And as learned in the beginning of FINAL, the Galeorian Comet passes Earth once every 8 years. So there is still hope for the heroic GGG, if they can survive for those 8 years.
    • A bit of All There in the Manual would show that they may not have even had to wait anywhere near that long: one of Genesic's abilities that was never shown is called the Galeoria Road. Most speculation on it is that it emulates the dimension-travelling power of the Galeoria Comet, meaning that the key to their salvation is already at hand.
• Book-Ends:
  • In the first episode of the original series, EI-02 takes a Broken Magnum to the head, and regenerates, just to take a punch right in the jaw. In the last episode of FINAL, Palparepa takes a Broken Magnum at point-blank range, right in the head, and regenerates, just in time to get a socked right in the jaw.
  • The entire final battle between Genesic GaoGaiGar and Palparepa Prajna is almost identical to the battle between GaoGaiGar and Zonuda. At least the part after a bright explosion of light and a silhouette of GaoGaiGar with rocks floating upwards. The dialogue is changed, though.
• The Cameo:
  • Guy's parents cameo near the end of the seventh opening in a blink or you miss it moment.
  • The Grand Pressure from Blockade Numbers appears in episode 6.
  • Shigeru Akamatsu and his two assistants from Betterman appear in episodes 4 and 8.
  • Lamia, also from Betterman, has several in Grand Glorious Gathering.
• Chekhov's Gun: Of all things, the Tiger Wood, a golf club that it turns out has emergency activation protocols for 3Gs lunar base.
• Continuity Nod: The GaoGaiGar vs. Palparepa match at the end of FINAL was basically a big throwback to the last fight of the original series against Zonuda. Except for the 'punching the enemy during regeneration' bit, that relates to the very first episode.
• Darker and Edgier: FINAL is much darker than the original series. Given that it's an OVA (and aimed at a slightly older audience), it's obvious why.
• Darkest Hour: FINAL episodes 4/5. 3G has been laid low by Palparepa's chemical nanomachines and manipulated into shutting down the Brave Robo Corps. Arma and Renais have been defeated by the Sol Masters, but Guy and GaoFighGar have been utterly curbstomped by Palparepa; GaoFighGar has been reduced to scrap metal, and Guy appears to be dead. All hope seems completely lost... and then Mamoru comes back, Renais finds Soldato-J, the J-Ark flies again, and the story begins to pull itself back from the Despair Event Horizon.
• Department of Redundancy Department: The last episode is called 'Final of Final.'
• Early-Bird Cameo: TenRyuJin appears at the end of the 2nd opening when she debuts in the 7th episode.
• Episode 0: The Beginning: There is a six part manga prequel called Final 00 that shows the creation of GaoFighGar and more about Bionet.
• Everyone Looks Sexier If French:
  • Renais is French, and is very hot... well, literally and figuratively. Look but don't touch—her skin temperature runs hot enough to burn on contact.
  • The French Dragons are the only female robots in the series, making them hot by default.
  • Also subverted from the very beginning — Swan White, GGG's resident Ms. Fanservice, is American.
• Eye Scream: Guy slammed his G-Stone into Palparepa's Loud G-Stone, and Minovsky Physics did the rest.
• First Church of Mecha: Rather fitting in that Genesic GaoGaiGar is also referred to as the God of Destruction. Rightly so, too.
• A God Am I: Palparepa starts spouting this in the final episode, saying he has the power of a god and Gao Gai Gar will be crushed by his overwhelming power. Gai expresses his dissenting opinion.
• Glass Cannon: The 11 Sol Masters from FINAL (with the exception of Pia Decem Pit). They're able to dish out a serious beating, but they have the defense of wet cardboard, breaking apart from even medium-strength attacks. Their 'infinite regeneration' is the only thing that keeps them from being curb-stomped by GGG in combat.
• Heroic BSoD: After everything that happens in the first 5 episodes of FINAL, including having to destroy Mamoru and Galeon, finding Cain in league with the enemy, GaoFighGar's destruction, being turned into a mind-controlled puppet for the enemy, annihilating the duplicates of the Robo Corps against his will, and nearly killing his sweetheart with a duplicate Goldion Hammer, Gai's reaction is pretty understandable...
• He's Back: Episode 6 of FINAL completely undoes Guy's Heroic BSoD, topping his triumphant return off with him, now in control of Genesic GaoGaiGar (aka, The God Of Destruction), ending the episode by handing the Sol Masters nothing short of a DEATH SENTENCE.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: Done in FINAL episode 8. To both sides, even. First, the Sol Masters are beaten up thoroughly. This causes Pisa Sol to use all its energy to create hundreds of replicants of the Sol Masters. However, doing this weakens Pisa Sol's defense, allowing Guy to go in with and obliterate the sun with the Goldion Crusher... Which in turn causes the universe to start collapsing, trapping the heroes in an alternate universe with no escape...
  • Done more personally to Palparepa when he tries to take down the titular mecha with a bio-tech computer virus...only to find out that Guy's Evoluder powers enable him to rewrite said virus and infect him right back. This is thrown back against Guy as it makes Palparepa even stronger.
• Hope Spot: The start of episode 5, and then subverted back and forth like a ping-pong ball a few times in episode 8.
• 'I Know You're in There Somewhere' Fight: Mikoto, Mamoru and Renais try to reach out to Guy when he's under Palparepa's control.
• Ironic Echo: 'Do you still not understand?' Guy tells this to Palparepa when the latter wonders why he's being overpowered despite having infinite energy. Palparepa repeats it to Guy after being revived.
• Lotus-Eater Machine: A somewhat variation of this trope in the form of the Pares Particles, which causes nerve cells to be greatly relaxed, most of GGG is overtaken easily due to their desire for peace, while Guy and Renais aren't affected because of their G-Stones, Papillon isn't either because she studied hallucinating effects.
• Madness Mantra: The Repli-Brave Corps constantly chant 'Terminate' upon seeing King J-Der, in a VERY creepy monotone.
• Manipulative Bastard: Repli-Mamoru does this to everyone he meets. Kicking Volfogg as GaiGar when the latter looks away and smirking as he was about to blast Guy after he was defeated. Lucky Kaidou showed up to stop him in the nick of time.
• Meaningful Name: A sort-of reverse example in the final battle, in which all the damage dealt to the Genesic GaoGaiGar is on the Protect side precisely because it's being used as protection, while the Broken side - which is used to attack instead - remains unscathed.
• Mood Whiplash: Thanks to the replacement for Kotaro being this old bugger who takes his time over the Final Fusion commands.
• My Name Is Inigo Montoya: With Palparepa towards the end:
  Palparepa: Total victory... this is the right of God.
  Guy: I'll show you... THE POWER OF TRUE COURAGE!
  (Genesic GaoGaiGar stands and powers up to excessive levels.)
  Palparepa: Go ahead and show me!
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Genesic GaoGaiGar is referred to as 'the God of Destruction'. Of course he's one of the good guys, but that is certainly not the name of something most people want to mess with.
• Noodle Incident: Upon seeing Guy, Gimlet mentions that he will pay him back for the event in Hong Kong.
  • This actually gets shown in detail in the GaoGaiGar FINAL prequel manga.
• No Ontological Inertia: Once Pisa Sol is destroyed, everything it created vanishes as well, including all of the other Masters Of Sol, Repli-Earth, Repli-Papillion, and the entire universe it was currently residing in.
• Ominous Latin Chanting: During Genesic Hell and Heaven, 'Hell and Heaven' is chanted over and over.
• Post-Script Season: Takes place one year and a half after the original show.
• The Power of Friendship: The final battle of FINAL, with the 'all G-Stones are one' routine.
• Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: The Goldion Crusher's 'Hikari ni Nare' is delivered like this. Like everything else, Hot-Blooded and epic. It nearly devolves in angrish towards the end: 'HIKARIII... NIII... NAAAAAAAAREEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGH!'
  • Near the end of Guy's beat down against Palparepa, the former combines this with Ominous Latin Chanting, shouting the Hell and Heaven chant one word at a time, and every word was timed perfectly with a punch connecting with Palparepa, finally ending with him putting his hands together and finishing the move normally. 'Hot-Blooded' isn't enough to describe this.
  Guy:GEMU! *punches with right fist* GIRU! *punches with left, both fists now crackling with energy* GAN! *right fist again, now glowing red* GO! *left fist, now glowing yellow* GUFO! *smashes Palparepa's face in with a right* *smashes his hands together, and finishes the move properly* VITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!
• 'The Reason You Suck' Speech: Guy and Palparepa are fond of throwing these at each other. Palparepa is particularly fond of mocking Guy for his mortality and claiming that 'lesser beings' like humans can never match immortals like himself. After hearing this for half the series, Guy finally makes his rebuttal in the midst of a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown in episode 8:
  Guy: The reason you tried to seal off GGG...! The reason you couldn't come close to the G-Crystal...! The reason you isolated GaoFighGar...! The reason you didn't come to directly attack our Earth...! It's all because you feared us! The G-Stone's power can only grow and surpass the power of the Loud G-Stone! This is the energy BORN FROM COURAGE!!
• Robot Hair: Genesic GaoGaiGar has big red hair of the synthetic variety.
• Sci-Fi Writers Have No Sense of Scale: Apparently, it requires a whole universe worth of dark matter to rebuild one solar system.
• Shoot the Medic First: Inverted. The heroes push themselves to the limit to destroy the other Sol Masters knowing full well that they'd be revived by Pisa Sol, but it turns out it was all a Batman Gambit to make Pisa Sol use up her energy, leaving her vulnerable to the Goldion Crusher.
• Super Prototype: Genesic GaoGaiGar. Justified, since it was the original form of GaoGaiGar made using advanced alien technology, and therefore far more powerful than the Earth-made imitation.
• Technopath: Guy, after he becomes an Evoluder.
• Well-Intentioned Extremist: The 11 Masters of Sol from are just trying to rebuild the Trinary Solar System after it was destroyed by the Zonderians. It just so happens that they're using the rest of the universe as construction material.
• You Are Not Alone: Done three times.
  • In episode 6 Mikoto says this to Guy to rouse him out of his Heroic BSoD.
  • When Palparepa mocks Guy as he is surrounded by the Eleven Sol Masters wondering what he could possibly do all alone, Chief Taiga responds with this.
  • And in episode 8 this is Guy's reply as he destroys Pisa Sol with the Goldion Crusher.
• You Are Too Late: A heroic example. This is Kaidou's response to Palus Abel when she believes Pisa Sol will regain her energy before Guy can destroy her.

▲ This figure is constructed with plastic and metal.
The heft is not only visually noticeable, but it also feels great in the hand.
▲ The wings are huge, and made of many different parts, creating an intricately detailed surface.
▲ Many shades of metallic paint are used to create depth and intrigue. The lion head on the chest uses this technique of varying metallic colors beautifully.
▲ No need to replace the hands to create different poses, as these hands have full range of motion, including poseable fingers.
▲ The left forearm can convert into a shield, deployed directly from the left hand.
▲ Be careful with the drills on both knees, and the tank treads on the back of the lower leg, as they are both quite delicate.
